Leopoldus III. Probus – This scarce original antique print depicts a portrait of Leopold III (1351 – 1386), known as the Just, a member of the House of Habsburg, Duke of Austria from 1365. As head and progenitor of the Leopoldian line, he ruled over the Inner Austrian duchies of Carinthia, Styria and Carniola as well as the County of Tyrol and Further Austria from 1379 until his death. From: ‘Tirolensium principum comitum Contrafacturen’ by Wolfgang Kilian, published in Augsburg 1623.

Made by Wolfgang Kilian after an anonymous artist. Wolfgang Kilian (1581–1662) was a German engraver and member of the Kilian family of engravers in Augsburg. He was the son of Bartholomaus Kilian the elder and Maria Pfeiffelmann. After his father’s death in 1583 his mother remarried Dominicus Custos and he and his brother Lucas became his pupils.
