This work is quite scarse and rarely offered for sale. The views are attractive with panoramic impressions of the cities set in a romantic rural or maritime scene.
Made by ‘Gaspar Bouttats’ after ‘J. Peeters’. Gaspar Bouttats (1625-1695) was a Flemish engraver from Antwerp, mostly working for book publishers. Ioan / Jan I Peeters (1624-1677) was a Flemish painter of marine scenes. Later he also became an art dealer. He was a student of his brothers Bonaventura and Gilles.
