Description
(‘Festivities at the court of the King of Palmyra’). Arabian entertainment, showing a woman lying on her back on a pile of furs. She holds aloft a hood for a lion to jump through. Several other wild animals are held on the right, while the spectators and musicians are on the left, where also a nobleman is lounging while smoking a water pipe.
