Biography artist: Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun (1755-1842) was one of the most acclaimed portrait painters of 18th-century France, known especially for her depictions of nobility, including Marie Antoinette. She continued to produce influential works through the early 19th century and left a strong legacy in neoclassical and romantic portraiture.
