Original antique print showing a portrait of John Metcalf (1717 – 1810), known as Blind Jack of Knaresborough or Blind Jack Metcalf, the first professional road builder to emerge during the Industrial Revolution.

Made by Anonymous after John Raphael Smith.

Medium: Engraving / etching on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 10.3 x 18.3 cm (4.06 x 7.2 inch). Image size: 9 x 12.6 cm. (3.54 x 4.96 inch).

Condition: good, given age. A few wrinkles. Remains of paper from previous attachment shining through, which we can remove on request. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
