Jeanne d’Arc – This scarce original antique print depicts a portrait of Joan of Arc, in French Jeanne d’Arc (c. 1412 – 1431), nicknamed “The Maid of Orleans”, is considered a heroine of France for her role during the Lancastrian phase of the Hundred Years’ War.

Source unknown, to be determined.

Made by W. Senus after an anonymous artist. Willem van Senus (c. 1770-1851) was a Dutch engraver. He was a member of the Utrecht painter’s circle. He made numerous book illustrations and portraits of contemporary actors. His largest contribution was to “Geschiedenis der Vaderlandsche Schilderkunst” (History of Dutch Painting).

Condition: Good, given age. A few tiny spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
