Plate: ‘Jean dict le Triomphant III.’ Portrait of Jan III van Brabant (1300 – 1355), Duke of Brabant, Lothier, and Limburg (1312�1355). He was the son of John II, Duke of Brabant and his wife Margaret, daughter of King Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castile. This old antique print originates from ‘Les effigies des souverains princes et ducs de Brabant avec leur chronologie, armes et devises.’ Antwerpen: Joannes Meyssens, c. 1663.Artists and Engravers: This plate by Coenrad Waumans. Conrad Waumans (1619 – after 1675), Flemish engraver, a pupil of Paul Pontius.
