Description
Plate : Portrait of Jan Cornets de Groot (1554 – 1640) surrounded by coats of arms, flags, banners and weapons. Just below the portrait the 3 rivers Schie, Maas and Merwede near a water mill. Further below a Roman ship. Dutch patrician De Groot was the father of Hugo de Groot.

Medium: engraving / etching on hand laid (verge) paper.

Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, mainly in the margins. Some light creases / crinkles. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
