This very rare print shows a view on the shelling of Portuguese by the ships and fights on the island of Principe, 12 December. The four ships in the bay: the Mauritius, the Frederik Hendrik, the unity and hope. Part of the illustrations in the report of the journey to the world through Olivier van Noort in 1598-1601. No 2.

Medium: engraving on handlaid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 23 x 17.5 cm (9.06 x 6.89 inch). Image size: 22.5 x 14.7 cm. (8.86 x 5.79 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Brownish. Stain in lower right corner. No margin on right. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
