This original old antique print / engraving originates from ‘Sacrae historiae acta a Raphaele Urbin. in Vaticanis xystis ad picturae miraculum expressa Nicolaus Chapron, first published in Rome, 1649. This work contains plates engraved after Raphael’s Vatican murals. Artists and Engravers: The engraver of this work is Nicolas Chapron / Chaperon, French (1612-1656), designed after the Vatican murals by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520). The publisher of this edition is Pierre Mariette (1634-1716).
Condition: Excellent. Small holes at left margin, not affecting image, from binding. Some small stains in right margin, not affecting image. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling. Please study image carefully.
