Medium: Handcoloured lithograph. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 25 x 16.7 cm (9.84 x 6.57 inch). Image size: 23.5 x 16 cm. (9.25 x 6.3 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. A faint stain in the top half of the image. Light diagonal crease. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This print originates from ‘L’Illustration horticole’, published ca. 1860.

Biography engraver: Louis-Constantin Stroobant (1814-1872) was the eldest brother of the Belgian artist and engraver Francois Stroobant. Louis-Constantin ran a lithographic printing press, specialised in multicolour flora prints.
