Made by an anonymous engraver after Kirby.
Medium: Original chromolithograph. on wove (vellin) paper.

Condition: good, given age. Light foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive original antique print originates from: ‘A Hand-Book to the Order Lepidoptera, Part II. Moths, Vol. IV’, by W.F. Kirby, published in London, 1897.?.
Biography engraver: No artist for this series of prints is given. We assume it is W.F. Kirby. The plates were printed by Wyman & Sons of London. William Kirby (1759-1850) was an English entomologist, as well as a country priest. He was an original member of the Linnean Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society.
