‘Viburnum Oxycocos, 20’

Etching on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 20 x 26 cm. (7,9 x 10,2 inch). Image size: 17,5 x 23,5 cm. (6,9 x 9,3 inch).

This attractive print was pyblished by K.L. Wildenow in ‘Hortus Berolinensis’ from 1803-1816. This was page 87 from the book.

Made by ‘Friedrich Guimpel’ after ‘K.L. Wildenow’. Friedrich Guimpel (1774-1839) was engraver, botanical illustrator, artist and professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts.

Condition: Good, given age. Some stains in lower right corner because of turning pages from the book, brownish edge and brown spots in margins, the red colour of the berries is run out. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
