Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘A Gathering of the Small’ – A congregation of insect-like fantasy figures. A surrealist pointillist image.

Condition: Very good, given age. A crease from the lower margin into the image. Margin edges a little discoloured. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Lithograph on wove paper.

Description: Prints made after a series of pointillist pen drawings. Signed, titled and numbered (42/100) in the bottom of the image. Additionally signed on the stone.

Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Robert Franken’ after own design. Robert Franken (1946-) is a Dutch artist, born in The Hague. He moved to New Zealand ca. 1971, and remained there. He makes oil paintings, and textile paintings, mosaics and glass engravings, as well as an occasional pen drawing. The latter were made into prints.
