BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Simon Fokke (1712-1784) was a Dutch designer, etcher, engraver, and occasional actor. A pupil of Jan Caspar Philips, he worked mainly for Amsterdam publishers, producing book illustrations, portraits, topographical views, and historical scenes. His prints.
