Biography engraver: Heinrich Wilhelm Storck (1811?1870) was a German history painter and caricaturist known for his sharp satirical works targeting the political landscape of 19th-century Prussia. His illustrations often critiqued the monarchy and political affairs, making his works highly controversial at the time. Storck’s works gained notoriety for their biting satire, particularly in relation to Prussian politics. His most famous caricatures, including Wie einer immer daneben tritt, directly influenced political decisions, such as the restriction of press freedom in 1843.
