‘LA COMPARAISON FAVORABLE.’

– A refined and delicately executed French erotic engraving from around 1900, after Achille Deveria. The print captures a playful and intimate moment, characteristic of 19th-century French libertine illustrations. A man and a woman are depicted in an intimate pose within a well-furnished boudoir. The setting includes a four-poster bed with draped curtains, a framed erotic painting on the wall, and elegant furnishings, emphasizing the sensual and romantic nature of the scene. Deveria was known for his skillful depiction of such themes, and his experience in vignette and mezzotint techniques influenced many of his works.
