Plate : ‘De la Noue – Graaf Lodewijk, 1572.’ This plate shows Francois de la Noue (1531- 1591), called Bras-de-Fer, one of the Huguenot captains of the 16th century. On the right Count Louis of Nassau (1538 – 1574), the third son of William, Count of Nassau and Juliana of Stolberg, and the younger brother of Prince William of Orange Nassau. This original antique print was published in The Netherlands by Emrik and Binger, 1872.Artists and Engravers: J. Hilverdink (1813-1902), artist.
Condition: Good. General age related toning. Dampstained top margin but not affecting image.
