Description
Fireworks in honour of the Treaty of Utrecht, set off on 14 June 1713. A large monument has been erected near the pond in The Hague, decorated with allegorical representations of peace. There is a fence around the monument to which the fireworks are attached. In front of the fence, on a pedestal, stands the Dutch lion breathing fire. A number of men are busy setting off the fireworks. Next to the performance is a legend from 1-20.

Condition: good, given age. Middle fold, with some paper separion at bottom, backed. Some paper loss in bottom right margin, backed. Small tear in richt paper edge, backed. Small pinhole. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: Johannes de Groot II (1688/9-1776) was a Dutch artist known for his work as a painter, draughtsman, and printmaker. He primarily worked in Leiden and was the father of painters Willem de Groot and Pieter de Groot.
