Antique print, titled: ”Differentes sortes de fakirs.” – This plate shows three different kind of fakirs, Asian holy men. From the Tirion edition of ‘Hedendaagsche Historie, of Tegenwoordige Staat van alle volken’, published by Isaak Tirion, Amsterdam, ca. 1730. This is in fact an amended Dutch edition of: ‘Modern History: or the Present State of all Nations.’, published by Thomas Salmon since 1725.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Jakob van der Schley’ after an anonymous artist. Jakob van der Schley (Amsterdam 1715-1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver. He studied under Bernard Picart and became heavily influenced by his style.

Condition: Very good, given age. Margins edges a little foxed and browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
