Original engraving, captioned “Ester devant le Roi Assuerus” (Esther before King Ahasuerus). The print shows Esther and three handmaidens and King Ahasuerus with a councillor, in a room inside a palace. From: “Histoire des Juifs et des Peuples voisins”, a French edition of Humphrey Prideaux’s “The Old and New Testament connected in the History of the Jews and Neighbouring Nations”. Condition: Good given age, quite browned, right margin uneven. Please study scan carefully.
