Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 38,5 x 34 cm. (15,2 x 13,4 inch). Image size: 25,2 x 17,7 cm. (9,9 x 7 inch).

This attractive print originates from ‘Topographia Germaniae Inferioris (..)’ by C. Merian, published c. 1650.

Made by ‘Caspar Merian’ after own design. Caspar Merian (1627-1686) was one of the most important German topographical engravers and publishers in the Baroque period.

Condition: Very good, given age. Fold as published. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
