Home for the holidays

Lithograph handcolored on Wove (velin) paper.

Apparently this scene was used by the publisher for different themes and it appears it was copied after ‘Home To Thanksgiving’, which was lithographed by John Schutler, after George Henry Durrie (American; 1820-1863). George Durrie, nicknamed ‘the snowman,” was known for his peaceful and idealized snow scenes of New England. Ref: American Homestead Winter, 1868-1869
