Condition: very good, given age. Light ghosting from previous matting. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The original design by Boucher from 1775. This print originates from ‘Ornements Vases et Decorations’ by Pequegnot, published 1862-1870.
Biography engraver: Engraved by Pequegnot after F. Boucher. Auguste Pequegnot (1819-1878) was a French painter and engraver. He painted mainly landscapes and women, under tutelage of Master Ciceri. His main engraving work was ‘Ornements Vases et Decorations’, a series of 100 etchings of architectural, sculptural and decorative arts. Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a prominent French painter in the rococo style. He is known for idyllic, pastoral scenes and voluptuous treatment of classical themes.
