Description

Etching and engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: fragment (see scan).
Sheet size: 15 x 19,5 cm. (5,9 x 7,7 inch). Image size: 11,5 x 15,8 cm. (4,5 x 6,2 inch).

This image was later also copied / depicted in a 1843 Magasin Pittoresque article executed in a wood engraving. This item has not been fully described / researched. Please inquire for possible available additional information. Any input is appreciated.

Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘possibly Wenceslaus Hollar’.

Condition: Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
