From: “The Nightless City, or the History of the Yoshiwara Yukwaku, by Joseph Ernest de Becker, an English student of Sociology”. Published in Yokohama: Z.P. Maruya, 1899. This is an illustrated account of Yoshiwara, Edo’s licensed quarters. the city within a city which housed old Tokyo’s prostitutes from 1617 to 1957.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Kinko-Sha’ after an anonymous artist.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original folds, as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
