Made by ‘B.T.Pouncy’ after ‘W. Hodges’. Benjamin Thomas Pouncy (?-1799) was an English draughtsman and engraver. He was trained by William Woollett, and is said to have been his brother-in-law. Later in life he produced some excellent engravings after contemporary masters. William Hodges (1755-1797) was an English painter. He was a member of James Cook’s second voyage to the Pacific, and is best known for the work he did during that journey. James Cook (Author, 1728-1779) was a British captain, explorer and cartographer.
Condition: Very good, given age. Light creasing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
