The suite of 98 lithographs titled ‘Recueil de grimaces’, published between 1823 and 1828.
Made by ‘Louis Leopold Boilly’ after own design. Louis-Leopold Boilly (1761-1845) was a French painter and draughtsman. He was a gifted portrait and genre painter. He became famous with his expressive depictions of caricature. Printed by Delpech.
Condition: Good, given age. Ghosting from previous framing. Paper edges browned and some chipping and small tears. Light staining and soiling General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
