Plate 80: ‘Dioskorus doet de Bisschoppen boeyen om hen alzo tot zijne wille te dwingen’ (Dioskorus chains the emperor to force him to do his bidding). It shows: The seated emperor, being chained by the legs while seated in a group of other chained people. This original engraving originates from ‘Tafereelen der eerste Christenen, bestaande in 92 konstprenten’ (Scenes of the first Christians, in 92 prints). This book was published in 1740 in Amsterdam by Gerrity de Groot and Jacobus Rijkhof. The prints by Luyken are accompanied by texts by P. Langendyk and C.
