Antique print, titled: ”The ruins of the castle of Brederode.” – A landscape with the ruins of Castle Brederode. This Castle was situated in the province of Noord Holland near Santpoort-Zuid. It was built in the 13th century by Willem I van Brederode. It was destroyed in the 16th century. Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘A. McClatchie’ after ‘Valentijn Bing’. A. McClatchie was active around 1830 as engraver of architectural subjects and landscapes. Valentijn Bing (1812-1895) was a Dutch painter and lithographer from Amsterdam.
Condition: Good, given age. Top margin browned, some stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
