Antique print, titled: ‘Specimen Operis Cornuti …’ – This map shows it shows the shapes of various fortifications, a wall and a moat/ditch. This print originates from the 1629 latin ed. of Herman Hugo’s ‘Obsidis Bredana, sub Ambrosio Spinola’, first published in Antwerp in 1626. English ed. in 1627. This is an eye-witness account of the ten-month siege of the fortress of Breda in 1625 by Spanish forces led by Spinola.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous.
Condition: Very good, given age. A small stain in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
