Antique print, titled: ‘Doorbraak van den Neder-Betuwschen Bandijk te Ingen, 23 Maart. ‘ – This print shows a view of the breakthrough of the Neder Betuwe Bandijk te Ingen near Buren, March 23. From: ‘De Waterramp van 1855. Geschetst in 24 afbeeldingen & naar de natuur geteekend en geetst door leden der Maatschappij Arte et Amicitiae.’, published in 1855. This collection of etchings was published by this Amsterdam Art Society in support of the flooding disaster of 1855 in the Netherlands. We also carry the complete set. Jacobus Loerenz Sorensen / Soerensen (1812-1857) was a Dutch painter, etcher and lithographer of landscapes from Amsterdam. He was a pupil of the Architecture Academy in Amsterdam. His style ressembles B.C. Koekkoek.
Condition: Good, given age. Some small stains in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
