Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 15,9 x 21,3 cm. (6,3 x 8,4 inch). Image size: 15,2 x 20,9 cm. (6 x 8,2 inch).

Bookplate can be dated to 1719 when Ludewig received the ‘Adelsdiploma’.

Made by Syfang after an anonymous artist. We have not been able to find information on this engraver: Syfang or Seyfang from Halle.

Condition: Very good, given age. Light foxing and soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
