Medium: Handcoloured engraving. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 21 x 13.3 cm (8.27 x 5.24 inch). Image size: 18 x 11.5 cm. (7.09 x 4.53 inch).

Condition: good, given age. 3 Small holes in top margin from binding. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

From New Sporting Magazine’, 1837.

Biography engraver: John Wykeham Archer (1808-1864) was a British topographical watercolourist, engraver and illustrator. This includes a series of etchings of monuments and architectur of London: “Vestiges of Old London”, published 1851. George Balmer (1806-1846) was a British painter and draughtsman of mainly marine and coastal subjects.
