– Original antique print showing Abraham’s Deep Sleep during the Covenant of the Pieces, based on the biblical passage Genesis 15:12. A smoking firepot and a blazing torch emerge from thick clouds of smoke on the left, passing between the divided animal pieces to seal God’s covenant.

Biography engraver: Joseph Mulder (1658, Amsterdam – 1742, Amsterdam), was a Dutch Golden Age printmaker, known as a renowned engraver.

Biography artist: Gerard Hoet, the elder (1648-1733) was a Dutch history and genre painter and engraver from Zaltbommel. Pieter de Hondt, Dutch publisher and bookseller (1696–1764).
