Biography engraver: The engravings were produced by a team of skilled engravers working under the Commission des Sciences et Arts d’Egypte; individual names were often omitted.

Biography artist: Etienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire (1772-1844) was a French zoologist and naturalist. He contributed to the Description de l’Egypte and was a pioneer in comparative anatomy.
