Made by Jacob Hoefnagel after Joris George Hoefnagel. Jacob Hoefnagel (1573-c.1632) was a Flemish painter, printmaker, miniaturist, draftsman, art dealer, diplomat, merchant and politician. He was the oldest son of Joris Hoefnagel. Joris Hoefnagel (1542-1601) was a Flemish painter, printmaker, miniaturist, draftsman, art dealer, diplomat, merchant and politician. He is noted for his illustrations of natural history subjects, topographical views, illuminations and mythological works. He was one of the last manuscript illuminators and made a major contribution to the development of topographical drawing. (source wikipedia)
Condition: Good, given age. Trimmed at or within plate mark. Small hole near stem of pear. Top paper edge a bit chipped, partly backed. Right paper a bit thinner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
