Made by ‘Pieter Janson’ after own design. Pieter Janson (1765-1851) was a Dutch engraver born in ‘s-Hertogenbosch whose main themes were rural landscapes and animals. He was a pupil of his father Johannes Janson (1729-1784) in Leiden. In 1796 he joined the army and went to Russia in 1812.
Condition: Good, given age. Light creasing, soiling and some stains. Remains of glue on the reverse, upper left corner thin paper. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
