From: “Tafereelen” with depictions from the paintings in the Binnenhof in The Hague, published in 1737..Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Pieter Tanje’ after ‘Gerard Lairesse’. Pieter Tanje (1706-1761) was an 18th century Dutch engraver from the Northern Netherlands. He specialised in highly finished book illustrations. Gerard de Lairesse (1640-1711) was a talented Dutch Golden Age engraver, painter and art theorist. Born at Liege, 1660 to Berlin, 1665 to Amsterdam. moved to The Hague around 1684.
Condition: Good, given age. Ample margins. Some remains of whitewash colouring. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
