Original print, number 52, titled: s Lants Magasyn . s Lands Zeemagazijn (the Arsenal) was the former arsenal of the Admiralty of Amsterdam. This original print is from the rare topographical work ‘Amsterdam met der zelver Voornaamste Gebouwen / D’Amsterdam et deses Principaux Bastimens’ published ca. 1665. This work contains a total of one plan and 70 prints depicting the most famous buildings of Amsterdam (many of which are still extant). The prints are engraved after J. Veenhuisen en S. Webbers. He is mainly known for the many views he made of Amsterdam, and his portraits. S. Webbers is possibly Sacharias Webber (Amsterdam 1644-1696) is an artist/engraver. He was a student of Gerard de Lairesse. His father was a bookseller/publisher.
