Biography engraver: Paulus van Liender (1731-1797) was a Dutch landscape artist, engraver, and draftsman known for his topographical prints and romantic depictions of nature. He was a pupil of Cornelis Pronk and worked closely with Jan de Beijer. His works range from accurate cityscapes to idealized landscapes, and he was involved with the Haarlem Tekenacademie, influencing the next generation of Dutch artists.
