Antique print, titled: ”Slatuinen Amsterdam.” – This print shows a path leading through a vegetable garden, the Slatuinenweg near the Admiraal de Ruyterweg in Amsterdam. This print was posthumously (re)printed from the original plate, in an edition of 50 copies. This is 1 of 50, and bears the workshop stamp (‘Nalatenschap / G.C. Haverkamp / Beperkte oplage / Kunstzaal van Urk / Blaricum’) on the rear. Provenance: From a private collection, purchased from Kunsthandel Borzo in 1985.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Gerard C. Haverkamp’ after own design. Gerard C. Haverkamp (1872-1926) was a Dutch painter, draughtsman and etcher. Until his 23rd, he worked in an office and was artistically active only in his spare time. He was taught etching by Maurits van der Valk. Later, he spends time in Paris, living with his friend Pieter Dupont. Haverkamp is mainly known as an etcher, having left an oeuvre of ca. 300 etchings.
Condition: Very good, given age. Remains of attachment (to carrier or matting) on the rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
