Original print, number 64, titled: Haerlemmer Poort. The Haarlemmerpoort or Willemspoort (Haarlem gate or William’s gate) in Amsterdam. It was built in 1618 after a design by Hendrick de Keyser. This original print is from the rare topographical work ‘Amsterdam met der zelver Voornaamste Gebouwen / D’Amsterdam et deses Principaux Bastimens’ published ca. 1665. This work contains a total of one plan and 70 prints depicting the most famous buildings of Amsterdam (many of which are still extant). The prints are engraved after J. Veenhuisen en S. Webbers. He is mainly known for the many views he made of Amsterdam, and his portraits. S. Webbers is possibly Sacharias Webber (Amsterdam 1644-1696) is an artist/engraver. He was a student of Gerard de Lairesse. His father was a bookseller/publisher.

Condition: Good. Margins faintly dampstained. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
