Description
Original antique print showing a portrait of Scottish writer Alexander Ross (c. 1590?1654) at the age of 63, seated, facing the viewer, writing in a book, with a library behind. Ross was Chaplain-in-Ordinary to Charles I. One of his most significant accomplishments, published in 1649, the same year as the beheading of the king, was his complete translation of the Qur’an into English.

Sheet size: 7.8 x 14.9 cm (3.07 x 5.87 inch).
Condition: fair, given age. Paper browned. A few spots. Tiny tear right edge. Paper doubled. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
