Alb: A Haller. Aet: 69 – This scarce original antique print depicts a view of the Alps with the portrait of Albrecht von Haller and Haller at work. Albrecht von Haller (1708-1777) was a Swiss anatomist, physiologist, poet and naturalist. He was a pupil of Herman Boerhaave, and is often referred to as “the father of modern physiology”. Made by Johann Joseph Storklin after Balthasar Anton Dunker. Johann Heinrich Storklin / Storchlin (1687-1737) was a Swiss painter and engraver active in Augsburg. Balthazar Anton Dunker (Swiss; 1746-1807), a landscape painter and etcher, was born at Saal, near Stralsund.

Condition: Good, given age. Left margin partly repaired/remargined. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
