Alb: A Haller. Aet: 69 – This scarce original antique print depicts a view of the Alps with the portrait of Albrecht von Haller and Haller at work. Albrecht von Haller (1708-1777) was a Swiss anatomist, physiologist, poet and naturalist. He was a pupil of Herman Boerhaave, and is often referred to as “the father of modern physiology”. Text in French on verso.

Made by Johann Joseph Storklin after Balthasar Anton Dunker. Johann Heinrich Storklin / Storchlin (1687-1737) was a Swiss painter and engraver active in Augsburg. Balthazar Anton Dunker (Swiss; 1746-1807), a landscape painter and etcher, was born at Saal, near Stralsund.

Condition: Good, given age. Left margin partly repaired/remargined. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
