Biography engraver: Johann Sadeler I (1550-1600/01), Flemish engraver and member of the prolific Sadeler family, known for religious and allegorical prints. Aegidius Sadeler I (ca. 1555?1609) was active in Venice and Germany and closely collaborated with his brothers.
Biography artist: Maarten de Vos (1532-1603), Antwerp-born painter and designer, prolific draftsman for religious series, whose work influenced a generation of Northern printmakers.
