Plate: The Benevolent Cottager / La Paysane Bienfaisante. It shows a kneeling beggar in front of a farm woman and her three children. She gives him a morsel from the bowl in her hands, while one of the children holds out a jug of drink to him. Rare.

Medium: engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) watermarked 1822 paper.
Sheet size: 46 x 58 cm (18.11 x 22.83 inch). Image size: 33.5 x 41 cm. (13.19 x 16.14 inch).
Condition: very good, given age. Some small tears in the margins (not affecting image). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
