Made by Jacques-Philippe Le Bas and P. Martini after Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn.

Medium: Etching / engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.

Image size: 17.1 x 19.2 cm. (6.73 x 7.56 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Light foxing. Small tear in right paper edge. Print loosely attached to a carrier sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Jacques-Philippe Le Bas, or Lebas (8 July 1707, Paris – 14 April 1783, Paris) was a French engraver, head of the largest engraving workshop in Paris during the 18th century.

Pietro Antonio Martini (9 July 1738 – 2 April 1797) was an Italian painter and engraver, active in a late Baroque style.

Biography artist: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (15 July 1606 – 4 October 1669), usually simply known as Rembrandt, was a Dutch Golden Age painter, printmaker, and draughtsman. An innovative and prolific master in three media, he is generally considered one of the greatest visual artists in the history of art. It is estimated Rembrandt produced a total of about three hundred paintings, three hundred etchings, and two thousand drawings.
