Medium: Aquatint with etching and engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing, creasing, and soiling. Trimmed to image, attached to carrier sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Philibert-Louis Debucourt (1755-1832) was a French painter and master of aquatint printmaking. A pupil of Joseph-Marie Vien, he was celebrated for his complex multi-plate color prints and genre scenes. He lived for over a decade in the Louvre, assisted by his nephew Jazet.
