Sheet size: 29 x 22.3 cm (11.42 x 8.78 inch). Image size: 27.5 x 20.5 cm. (10.83 x 8.07 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing, soiling and creasing. Original middle fold as issued. Some paper separation at this middle fold margins. Small tear at bottom paper edege, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Title print for ‘Afbeeldinghe der Voornaemste Steden van Europa,’ published by Nicolaes Visscher I.

Reference: Hollstein Dutch 129-3(4); Rijksmuseum RP-P-BI-1866.

Biography engraver: Abraham Bloteling (1640-1690) was a renowned Dutch engraver and printmaker known for his refined reproductive engravings. He worked in Amsterdam and London, contributing significantly to Dutch book illustration.

Biography artist: Nicolaes Pietersz. Berchem (1620-1683) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman, celebrated for his Italianate landscapes and mythological scenes, many of which were later engraved by master printmakers.
